Hoosier Explorers: Updated February 2024

(Winamac, IN) The staff of the Senior Care program of Pulaski Memorial Hospital and the Pulaski County Public Library are excited to be working together to offer a new opportunity for adults in Pulaski County to engage in activities and games that will stimulate creative thinking, increase awareness of unique people in the community and in general broaden one’s horizons.

Interacting with others is an important part of a person’s wellbeing. The library offers an accessible and relaxing setting where a small group of people can interact comfortably.

People are often hesitant to venture into something new. Adults worry about how their peers will perceive them as much as teenagers do and so they often pass up opportunities to get out. Our goal is to make these monthly activities as pleasant and enlightening as possible.

We will be meeting in the Activity room of the Pulaski County Library on the second Tuesday of each month at 1:00 PM. Snacks and beverages will be available. Following are upcoming dates. Topics and speakers will be forthcoming.

February 2024 Update:

According to the Program Director of the Senior Care Program, Mindy Shidler, the first event held on January 9th had 9 total attendees! Great job to the Senior Care staff for promoting this program in the community. We look forward to hearing how the rest of these program go for the rest of the year.
