Empowered Living Program Celebrates Mental Health Awareness Month

(Carrollton, KY) The Empowered Living Program at Carroll County Memorial Hospital hosted an event to celebrate Mental Health Awareness Month. The event was attended by over 60 people and was led by Leslie Yocum, the Program Director for the Empowered Living Program.


Yocum spoke about the importance of mental health and how the Empowered Living Program can help people improve their mental health. She also introduced other speakers who talked about their experiences with mental health. The event was a success and helped to raise awareness of mental health in the community.

The speakers included Leslie Yocum, Program Director for the Empowered Living Program, Leighann Roberts, the Commonwealth Attorney, Holly Dawson from the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention, and a former patient of the Empowered Living Program who shared their story of recovery.


The Empowered Living Program is a community-based program that provides comprehensive mental health services to adults with mental illness. The program offers a variety of services, including individual and group therapy, medication management, and case management.
