Colquitt Regional Medical Center Inpatient Behavioral Health Open House

Updated: Jun 1, 2022

(Moultrie, GA) Colquitt Regional Medical Center hosted an Open House on May 9th for its brand new, state of the art, geriatric inpatient psychiatric unit. The Sterling Group Center for Behavioral Health is a 10-bed unit located on the 2nd floor of the hospital. The hospital recognized the tremendous need for inpatient psychiatric services in the area and partnered with UltraGroup Healthcare to bring these services to Moultrie and surrounding communities. Many local providers along with hospital leadership and other community resources attended the open house to support this brand-new service coming to the area.

The Sterling Group Center for Behavioral Health will serve seniors struggling with mental illness in a safe, therapeutic environment through evidenced-based treatment modalities. The program will be led by its Medical Director, Dr. Teron Verma, as well as its Program Director, Melissia Bennett. The unit staff will consist of Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSWs), Registered Nurses (RNs), Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), and Mental Health Techs who are all trained to help the patients achieve positive clinical outcomes through safety, structure, and empathy.
